STEP 1

Launch EDB Viewer from the installed location. To open the software, Go to Start > All Programs > EDB Viewers.

Click on "Add File" button on the menu bar of the software as highlighted in the image below.

Next, Browse the EDB file and STM file. Select appropritate scanning mode.

Quick Scan: Save time by quickly scanning the file; if it is not corrupt.

Advance Scan: Select this mode if the EDB file is severely corrupt.

Click on Add File button as highlighted in the image to start the scanning process of selected EDB file.

Next, the software will prompt for whether you want to Index (search) items found in the scan process. Click Yes if you want it to index. This may take time.

An alert message will appear once the scanning process completes.

Click OK to exit once the scanning has completed.

The software will generate a preview of items like; calendars, contacts, tasks, journal, etc., and emails in different email view forms like:

Normal Mail View: To view the email body.

Hex View: To view the hex code of an email.

Properties View: To see message attributes.

Message Header View: To view only mail header.

MIME View: For forensic purposes.

HTML View: To view the coded view of an email.

RTF View: To view the formatting of an email.

Attachments View: To preview an email attachment.

You can also switch the View mode of the software as Horizontal View or Vertical View.

This is the Property View of an email. Similarly, you can click on the other tabs to view the contents of an email in respective formats.

Preview all attachments in a single email under the Attachments Tab of the email. You can view attachments of the following types: .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .pdf, image files and other similar documents.

The software offers you an advance feature to search emails by a keyword or a term. Go to software Menu » Click Search » Type the Specific Term. Also, you can perform a filtered email search by selecting; subject, to, from, body and other criteria.

Once the search completes; the software will list all the emails that exactly match the keyword used and highlight the terms as shown in the image.

Lastly; export the EDB file mails in PDF file format by following the steps below: Go to Menu » click on the Export button.

Follow the steps as mentioned on the export options screen and apply mail filters. The mail filter will help you to Export Selected Emails in a specific date range to PDF format. After selecting an appropriate Naming Convention to save the PDF file here subject is selected by default.

And choose destination, then click on the Export Button to proceed.

Now the export process will begin.

An alert message will appear as the export process gets completed successfully.

Select saving location. Click Save.

After exporting, navigate to the folder location where the PDF files are saved and you can see a list of all emails in Portable Document Format with email's subject line as the name of each PDF file.

Open any of the exported PDF file and you can easily locate attachments at the bottom left corner of the PDF file as highlighted in the image.
