Follow the steps to learn how to use the Software

STEP 1

Launch Sqlite Forensic Explorer from the installed location. To open the software, Go to Start > All Programs > Sqlite Forensic Explorer.

Now, click on Add File button on menu bar of the software to add and start the analysis process of the Sqlite file.

Click on the Add button. A pop-up window will prompt user to Browse and select the file type: either Sqlite File or Journal File.

Now, click on Browse button to find and open the required Sqlite file from system.

Note: Apply the same procedure to add Journal File.

Click on Add button on the left panel to start the scanning process of Sqlite file.

Now, in next pop-up window left panel shows the tree structure of the folder and right panel under the Tabular bar shows the preview of Sqlite file.

Hex tab in the software assists the user to analyze the email messages in binary format. The Record bar shows the complete report of the message.

The left panel of the Hex View bar shows the Page Properties. The software also provides the option to categorize the page properties in ascending or descending order.

To analyze and categorize the data, software provides color scheme. User can differentiate the Unallocated data, Deleted data, Active data and Secured data by using the various color patterns.

Export option is also available in the tool; user needs to select the folder, which is required to export.

In a next pop-up window, software allows you to select either all export options such as Active Records, Deleted Records and All Media Files or desired one.

Now select the file type either PDF or CSV to export required records.

Click on Browse button to choose the destination location where the output files will be stored and then click on Save.

After completion of Export process, an alert message "Exported Successfully" will appear on the screen. Click OK.

Now, to verify the items exported using Sqlite Forensic Explorer.

Go to the location where you have saved your PDF file in your machine. Open the folder and see the result as shown below: -

To open, view and analyze the PDF file open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

To open the CSV, Go to the location where you have saved your CSV file in your machine.

To open and examine the CSV file, double click on it.

Under the Table Properties, user can analyze the schema of particular table by just hover the curser on it.

Software provide the option to export the schema into PDF or CSV symbol.
